The Complete Package
Optimization campaigns are all unique. Because a large portion of the strategy is based on the architecture, design, purpose, and theme of the site, no two optimization campaigns are identical. There is, however, a general system which we use to categorize optimization aspects. A general optimization will be implemented with the following process.
Keyword Analysis: We will complete an in depth analysis of your keywords including competitive analysis. The goal when selecting the keywords to optimize for is to consider the estimated popularity (and traffic) of the keyword, the competition for that keyword, and the relevancy of the keyword to your site. We specialize in determining exactly what keywords will work best for your business to maximize your effectiveness in the search engines.
Keyword Selection and Assignment: Once the analysis is complete, we will sit down with you to determine which key words we will pursue based on the current and potential traffic. The keywords are then assigned to individual pages either in a static or dynamic format. Depending on the theme of the site, pages will be assigned 3-5 keywords to define the optimization.
Assessment of Web Site and its current architecture: Treehouse will make recommendations for changes to your web site (if necessary). We could ask for such modifications as content changes to improve keyword density, URL structural changes, database integrations changes, etc. Many of the obstacles that non-optimized sites have start with the architecture and internal linking. We understand the costs associated with redesigning existing sites and we will work with you to minimize the work.
Implementation: The next step is to upload the optimized code to the site or give the optimized code to your team of developers (depending on the service contract). This process can vary greatly depending on the size, scope and structure of the site. For some clients, implementation involves design as well as code changes.
Submissions: After the optimized files have been uploaded, we will begin the submission process to all the search engines and directories which accept individual page submissions. We do this in a strict sequence. The goal here is to ensure that the major engines know about the site and are actively spidering the content.
Community Linking: (6-12 months depending on the total # and quality of links in the final scope). By building the site's network of incoming links we will increase the authority of the page thereby increasing page rank and traffic. This is a key factor in achieving the best possible positioning on the major search engines and directories. Addition of new links is staggered over the length of the campaign.
Traffic and Maintenance : Throughout the campaign, TreeHouse will be compiling and analyzing data about your site. All clients are provided a monthly ranking report that details what pages are ranking, which keywords are providing the most benefit, and how the campaign has grown each month. Any changes the analyst deems necessary to further impmrove the site's visibility will be performed.
Note: It is important to remember that the search engine's mission is to find and rank the best sites for its user base. Clients must be willing to work with us to improve the site as a whole. There is no easy way to good rankings that will benefit the site in the long run. Improving the site usually includes modification of the navigation structure of the site as well as generation/modification of site text content. Poorly written text content must be replaced by text content that is highly informative and relevant to the user as well as being easy-to-access by the search engines.
